MCP server

https://api.tempy.email/mcp is a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP). It gives AI agents disposable inboxes as tools: create an address, use it in a signup form, wait for the email and pull out the code or link.

Set up

In the Claude app, add it as a connector and sign in, no key needed. In Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code, pass your API key as a Bearer header.

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it tempy email, paste the URL below and click Continue.
Under Authentication pick Sign in now, and under OAuth client pick Register automatically (Claude detects both), then click Add.
Sign in to tempy.email and click Allow. No API key needed.

Tool	Arguments	What it does
`create_mailbox`	`local_part?, ttl_minutes?`	Create an inbox. 1 credit. Default lifetime 10 minutes; ttl_minutes of 10 or less keeps the default.
`wait_for_message`	`address, subject_contains?, from_contains?, timeout_seconds?`	Oldest unread matching email (mail that already arrived counts). Waits up to 60 s, marks it read, returns {received: false} plus a hint on timeout.
`extract_code`	`address, message_id?`	OTP, verification link and all links from an email. Pass the id from wait_for_message; defaults to the newest email.
`list_messages`	`address`	Emails in a mailbox (id, sender, subject, time).
`get_message`	`address, message_id, format?`	One email as text (or HTML).
`reply`	`address, message_id, body`	Reply to the sender. Sends real email.
`extend_mailbox`	`address, minutes?`	Keep a mailbox alive longer.
`delete_mailbox`	`address`	Deactivate a mailbox now.
`list_mailboxes`		Your live mailboxes and limits.
`get_account`		Credits, plan and expiry.

Prompts

test-signup (url, notes?): sign up on a site, verify the email, report each step.
get-otp (purpose?): give you an address, wait for the code, return it.

In Claude Code these appear as /mcp__tempy__test-signup and /mcp__tempy__get-otp.

Billing

Same as the REST API: each create_mailbox costs 1 credit, everything else is free, and your plan's rate and concurrency limits apply. MCP usage shows up in your dashboard.

Troubleshooting

401 Unauthorized: the key is missing or wrong, or a connector was disconnected. Copy the key again from the dashboard, or reconnect.
no_credits: buy a pack on the pricing page.
mailbox_expired: mailboxes live 10 minutes by default. Create a new one, pass a larger ttl_minutes, or call extend_mailbox.
concurrency_limit: delete mailboxes you no longer need, or upgrade.
