Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 12, 2026

📢 In Plain English
We don't store your data. Period. No databases, no logs of who sent what to whom, no tracking, no analytics beyond basic anonymous counts. Your emails live in server memory and vanish when the address expires or the server restarts.

Why? We built tempy.email because we believe privacy shouldn't be a luxury. The best way to protect your data is to not collect it in the first place.

Age Requirement: Tempy.email is intended for users aged 16 and older. If you are under 16, please do not use this service.

What We Collect (Spoiler: Almost Nothing)

Email Content

  • Temporary Storage: Emails are stored in server memory (Redis) only while your temporary address is active
  • Automatic Deletion: All emails are permanently deleted when:
    • Your 10-minute window expires
    • You discard the address
    • The server restarts
  • No Permanent Storage: We do not write emails to disk, databases, or backups
  • No Tracking: We do not log, track, or record who sends emails to whom

System Logs

Our logs contain only anonymous operational data:

  • Server restarts and system events
  • Anonymous statistics: number of addresses created, emails received/sent (no personal identifiers)
  • Error messages for debugging (sanitized to remove personal information)

We do not log:

  • Email addresses (sender or recipient)
  • Email content
  • IP addresses
  • User identifiers

Analytics

We use fully anonymous and obfuscated analytics:

  • What we track: Count of emails sent/received, count of temporary addresses created
  • What we don't track: Individual users, sessions, IP addresses, or any personally identifiable information
  • No third-party analytics: We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking scripts

Geographic Data

  • Visitor Country: For partner and CDN optimization purposes, we may track the country of visitors (not IP addresses)
  • How: This is handled by our CDN provider (Cloudflare) and we only receive aggregated country-level statistics

How We Use Your Data

  1. Deliver Emails: We receive emails to your temporary address and display them in real-time
  2. Send Replies: When you reply to an email, we send it via AWS SES on your behalf
  3. System Operations: Monitor system health and fix errors

That's it. We don't:

  • Sell your data (we don't have any to sell)
  • Share your data with advertisers
  • Build profiles
  • Train AI models on your emails
  • Analyze email content

Third-Party Services

AWS SES (Simple Email Service)

When you send a reply from tempy.email, your message is transmitted through Amazon Web Services SES. AWS SES processes the email for delivery but does not store it long-term.

Cloudflare CDN

Our website is served through Cloudflare's content delivery network for speed and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may temporarily cache static resources and logs basic connection metadata.

Our site contains affiliate links to partner products and services. When you click on an affiliate link, the third-party site may track your visit and actions according to their own privacy policy. This is beyond our control.

We do not:

  • Track which users click on affiliate links
  • Share your email data with affiliate partners
  • Receive any personal information from affiliate networks

Data Retention

Emails: Deleted when your temporary address expires (10 minutes by default, or extended time if you choose). Also deleted on server restart.

Logs: Anonymized system logs are retained for up to 30 days for debugging purposes.

Analytics: Anonymous aggregate statistics are retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

Since we don't store your personal data, there's nothing to request, delete, or export. Your emails are already gone when your session ends.

If you have questions about what (little) data we process, contact us at the email listed in our Contact page.

Security

  • In-Memory Storage: Emails stored in Redis (in-memory database), not on disk
  • No Persistent Storage: No SQL databases, no file storage of emails
  • Encrypted Transit: All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • AWS Infrastructure: Email sending uses AWS SES with their security standards

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this page if our privacy practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
