Use tempy.email for legitimate purposes. Don't spam, don't break laws, don't abuse the service. We'll do our best to keep it running, but we can't make guarantees. Your emails are temporary by design—don't rely on them for anything critical.

Agreement to Terms

By using tempy.email, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Age Requirement

Tempy.email is intended for users aged 16 and older. By using this service, you represent that you are at least 16 years of age. If you are under 16, you are not permitted to use tempy.email.

We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will take steps to prevent their continued use of the service.

What tempy.email Is

Tempy.email is a free, disposable email service that provides temporary email addresses for receiving and replying to emails. Addresses are active for 10 minutes by default (extendable on demand) and all data is deleted when the address expires or the server restarts.

What You Can Use It For

Acceptable uses:

  • Protect your primary email from spam
  • Sign up for services without revealing your real email
  • Receive one-time passwords (OTPs) and verification codes
  • Test email functionality in your applications
  • Receive and reply to legitimate correspondence temporarily

What You Cannot Use It For

Prohibited uses:

  • Illegal activities: Fraud, harassment, phishing, malware distribution, or any violation of law
  • Spam or abuse: Sending unsolicited bulk emails, creating accounts for spam purposes
  • Automated abuse: Running bots, scripts, or scrapers that generate excessive load
  • Circumventing bans: Creating accounts on services that have banned you
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be someone else or misrepresenting your identity
  • Harmful content: Distributing malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • Service disruption: Attempting to hack, overload, or interfere with the service

We reserve the right to terminate service, block addresses, or report illegal activity to authorities.

Service Availability

No Guarantees

Tempy.email is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee:

  • Uptime or availability
  • Delivery of all emails (some may be blocked by spam filters)
  • Permanence of data (emails are intentionally temporary)
  • Future availability of the service

Service Changes

We may:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time
  • Change features, limits, or pricing without notice
  • Block specific domains or senders to prevent abuse

Data Loss

Your emails will be deleted. This is by design. Don't use tempy.email for:

  • Important correspondence you need to keep
  • Critical account recovery emails
  • Legal or financial communications
  • Anything you can't afford to lose

Email Sending via AWS SES

When you reply to an email using tempy.email:

  • Your message is sent through Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (AWS SES)
  • AWS SES operates under their own Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy
  • You must comply with AWS's policies, including:
    • No spam or unsolicited emails
    • No abuse of the sending infrastructure
    • Compliance with email regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, etc.)

Abuse of email sending will result in immediate termination.

Rate Limits and Fair Use

We implement rate limits to prevent abuse:

  • Limits on address creation frequency
  • Limits on email sending (reply) frequency
  • Throttling of excessive requests

Violating rate limits or attempting to circumvent them may result in temporary or permanent blocking.

Third-Party Services

Cloudflare CDN

Our website is delivered via Cloudflare. Your use is subject to Cloudflare's Terms of Service.

Our site contains affiliate links to products and services we recommend. When you click these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Important:

  • We do not control third-party websites
  • We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms
  • Your use of third-party sites is subject to their terms and policies

Privacy and Data

See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data (spoiler: we don't store it).

Key points:

  • Emails are stored in memory only
  • All data is deleted when your address expires
  • We don't track who sends what to whom
  • No analytics beyond anonymous aggregate counts

Intellectual Property

Our Content

The tempy.email service, website design, logo, and branding are our property. You may not:

  • Copy or reproduce our service
  • Use our branding without permission
  • Reverse engineer or decompile our code

Your Content

You retain ownership of emails you send through our service. By using tempy.email, you grant us a temporary license to:

  • Store emails in memory during your session
  • Transmit your replies via AWS SES
  • Display emails in your browser

This license ends when your address expires and emails are deleted.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for:

  • Lost or deleted emails (they're supposed to be deleted!)
  • Service downtime or unavailability
  • Emails blocked by spam filters
  • Actions of email senders or recipients
  • Damages from use or inability to use the service
  • Third-party services (AWS SES, Cloudflare, affiliate sites)

Use at your own risk. Tempy.email is a free service provided as-is.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless tempy.email from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these terms
  • Your violation of laws or third-party rights
  • Content you send or receive through the service

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access at any time, without notice, for:

  • Violation of these terms
  • Abusive behavior
  • Illegal activity
  • Any reason or no reason

You may stop using the service at any time by simply closing your browser.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where tempy.email is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.

For legal disputes:

  • Informal Resolution: We'll attempt to resolve disputes informally for 30 days
  • Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration (if applicable in your jurisdiction)
  • No Class Actions: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
